Setting up the groundstation - thezenox/breezedude GitHub Wiki

If your location is not already within the OGN/FANET coverage, you need to setup your own ground station. The easiest is to use the GxAirCom project in groundstation mode.

I recommend the Heltec Wireless Stick V3 (Lite) (Lite = without OLED display) starting at 15$. If you start with a factory new hardware, you need to flash the firmware first.

Connecting to the GS Module

If your WiFi-AP is not set up, the GxAirCom will provide a WiFi Network. Connect to it (default password: 12345678) and open 192.168.4.1 in your browser. On some smartphones you need to disable mobile network to access websites within a WiFi network without internet connection.

Ground station settings

Set up the station like this:

To keep wifi connected you need to disable the "wifi off" setting, wich is hidden when selecting "stay connected". Select "try connect once" and "always on", save and reboot and then change to "stay connected".

With this settings your ground station should show up on gliderradar and be able to see aircrafts and weather stations within the GxAirCom listings
