Corrupt Barrens are dense biomes that appear uncommonly throughout the End, and one of the few where Endermen do not spawn. They have much denser fog than the End Highlands, and the nebulae and stars in their skies are very faint.
The surfaces and undersides of Corrupt Barrens are layered with Mirestone, often covered by Corrupt Overgrowth. Corrupt Growth grows in dense patches on the surfaces and ceilings. Murublight Chanterelles are found on the surface, while large Murublight Chanterelles and clusters of Blinklight Vines grow beneath. Pillars of Mirestone often emerge from Mirestone on the surface.
Nebulite Ores are found more frequently beneath the islands in this biome than in others.
Mirestone Ruins, End Gateways, and Large End Gateways can generate in this biome.

- Corrupt Barrens were initially concepted around the time of Celestial Groves, yet took many more iterations to be implemented.
- The Corrupt Barrens music track, Nebula, was the first to be composed and implemented, yet wasn't included publicly until it was later reworked.
