Air tables minimize vibrations during sensitive experiments, such as whole-cell electrophysiology. We use ours primarily to minimize tissue damage during electrode implantation. To use the air table, turn on the compressed air tank on the wall. If there is no air, order more from airgas. If there is air but the table doesn't go up, you may need to turn up the PSI. The same air tank feeds both the dental drill and the air table. Really we should have two regulators so they could be at different PSI, but currently it's working ok.
