Video Streaming Endpoints

The default streamer in Thingino is prudynt-t. Prudynt offers multiple video streaming endpoints that allow you to access your camera feeds and interact with them in real time, including support for two-way audio.

Default RTSP Endpoints:

  • 1080p Feed: rtsp://thingino:thingino@ip/ch0
  • 360p Feed: rtsp://thingino:thingino@ip/ch1

You can adjust streaming settings using web interface (Settings -> Streamer/OSD).

Main Stream and Sub Stream

Thingino serves two simultaneous video streams per camera, each with its own settings for codec, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate (Settings -> Streamer):

  • Main stream (ch0): full sensor resolution, for viewing and recording. RTSP: rtsp://thingino:thingino@ip/ch0
  • Sub stream (ch1): low resolution and low bitrate, for the built-in web preview, motion detection, and multi-camera grids. RTSP: rtsp://thingino:thingino@ip/ch1

All of these names refer to the same two streams: ch0/ch1 are the channel numbers used in RTSP URLs and stream labels, "Main"/"Sub" are the friendly names used on the settings pages, and stream0/stream1 are their names in the streamer configuration file (/etc/prudynt.json). NVR software typically records the main stream while pulling the sub stream for motion analysis and live view grids, which keeps CPU and network load low.

ONVIF Support:

Thingino also supports ONVIF for integrating with network video recorders (NVRs) and other ONVIF-compatible software.

Default ONVIF Settings:

  • Username: thingino
  • Password: thingino
  • Host: ip
  • Port: 80

To modify the ONVIF settings, you can edit the configuration file located at /etc/onvif.conf.

Please take into account that the default username "thingino" can't be changed. Just the password.

M-JPEG Stream:

An M-JPEG is available at

http://ip/x/mjpeg.cgi

The username/password is root and your root password (default root). (basic auth)

Still Image Snapshot:

You can capture a still image snapshot from your camera using the following URL:

http://ip/image.jpg

This url uses basic auth with default username/password - thingino/thingino

For both M-JPEG and the still image, replace ip with the actual IP address of your camera.
