Camera: Xiaomi Outdoor Camera AW200 (MJSXJ05HL) - themactep/thingino-firmware GitHub Wiki
This page contains instructions for installing the Thingino firmware on the Xiaomi Outdoor Camera AW200 (MJSXJ05HL).
[!WARNING] Please note that disassembling the camera will likely compromise its water and dust resistance.
What you'll need
For disassembly:
- A thin, pointed prying tool to wedge between the parts of the housing (e.g. a penknife)
- A small screwdriver that can reach into deep holes
For firmware installation:
- A USB-C data cable
Disassembly
- Carefully wedge the tool between the front black glossy panel and the outer white shell. The black panel is thin, so you should avoid pushing the tool in too far.
- Gently lever the cover off, gradually increasing the force. The black cover is held in place with glue, so it may resist at first.
- Once the black cover is removed, you’ll see the exposed IR LEDs, microphone, and indicator light.
- Find the three screw holes holding the camera’s internals in place, then remove all 3 screws.
- Insert the tool (the same one used to remove the front cover) between the black inner cover and the outer shell, around the inner perimeter of the housing. This time, push the tool in a bit deeper than in step 1. As in step 2, gently lever the inner black core out.
- Once the black core and red insulation ring come loose, be careful not to yank them. The back speaker is still connected, so gently disconnect it before fully removing the core.
Congratulations, you successfully disassembled the camera.
