This is a JANK guide on how to install a9lh on any firmware version of 3ds, without b9s needed

do this at your own risk, if you brick it's not my fault

I'm heavily going to be relying on already written guides for this.. i'm not sure if i'll copy the text or link to them yet though..

i hope you don't mind my rambling it helps me structure this

step 1... leech off another better written guide

don't go immediately i have stuff to tell you

11.15-11.17 o3ds, and 11.14 n3ds go here: mset9

11.4-11.13 o3ds/n3ds go here: ssloth

11.4-11.13 o3ds with wrong browser/no browser, and 11.14 o3ds go here: safecert

1.0-2.0, 2.2-8.1 o3ds/n3ds go here: soundhax

9.0-11.3 skip to the last part of step 2

2.1 skip to step 4

download the latest d9wip release, extract it, rename Decrypt9WIP.bin to SafeB9SInstaller.bin , or in the case of mset9 rename it to SafeB9S.bin, and place it on the SD card root, AFTER the files from the guide, replacing anything it asks

Follow the guide, and if all goes well, you should be in Decrypt9WIP!, unmount your SD card, place it back in your computer and get the correct 9.2 ctr transfer from here , and place it on the SD card root

step 2... downgrade time!!

Put the sd card back into your 3ds, and remount it in d9wip

Go to SYSNand options > CTRNand transfer > [Auto Ctrtransfer], do the button thingy, and select the ctrimage file, do the button combo(if there is one), and if all goes well, it should say successful, go back to the main menu, and click start to reboot.

step 3... music time

You could also do this next bit with a game exploit but i'm not gonna cover that.. yet(?)

step 4... downgrade² time!!

you should now be in the hblauncher, READ ALL WARNINGS ON THE PAGE FIRST follow this guide in whole, and now you're on 2.1!

step 5... black magic :3

follow this guide until section 2 , and instead of the latest versions of luma and safea9lhinstaller. Use luma 7.0.5 and safea9lhinstaller v2.0.3 , once at section 2 step 3, come back and use http://dukesrg.github.io/2xrsa.html?arm11.bin instead of the provided link.

if this works fine, skip the next (chonky) step, if it doesn't work, continue

step 5.5... white magic ;(

keep the files from step 5, they're needed(this is gonna be complicated..) Getting weird errors on step 5? that's normal..-ish, power off, put your sd card back in the pc, delete the previous soundhax file, get the 2.1 file from soundhax.com , and place on the sd card root,

get the latest universal otherapp from https://github.com/TuxSH/universal-otherapp/releases, and replace the old otherapp (making sure the new one is named otherapp.bin),

get SafeB9S(Installer).bin from your sd root (renamed d9wip) and make a copy of it to your pc, and delete it.

Get godmode9 1.2.8 from https://github.com/d0k3/GodMode9/releases/tag/v1.2.8, name it to SafeB9SInstaller.bin, put it on the sd card root

Make a folder on the root(if it doesn't exist) called gm9, make a subfolder in it called out

less boring stuff

turn on the 3ds, open sound app, put the sd card back into the 3ds while in sound, wait for it to load, go to sd card, run soundhax, and with some luck you should be in gm9

Go to MEMORY VIRTUAL, click on otp.mem, then select copy to gm9/out, power off the 3ds and put the sd card in your pc, go to gm9/out, rename otp.mem to otp.bin, and move it to the a9lh folder on the sd card root, delete the current SafeB9SInstaller.bin, go back to safea9lhinstaller 2.0.3 and grab arm9loaderhax.bin, name it as SafeB9SInstaller.bin, and place on your sd card root.

Turn on the 3ds, open sound app, put the sd card back into the 3ds while in sound, wait for it to load, go to sd card, run soundhax, and with some luck you should be in safea9lhinstaller, wait for it to load, and press select, once its done, force power off your 3ds (if you don't see anything, it may still be there, iirc it has screen issues sometimes, if you see nothing, wait a minute, press select, wait 20 seconds, and hold power off until your 3ds turns off)

step 6... profit?!?!?

power on your 3ds and see what happens lol, if it powers on, congrats, hold start on powerup and restore a nand backup, however if nothing happens, go to the luma 7.0.5 folder and copy arm9loaderhax.bin, to your sd card root, replacing anything if asked, AND delete home menu ext data, you can do this by going to here on your sd card; Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/, and Delete the corresponding folder for your region: USA: 0000008f EUR: 00000098 JPN: 00000082 KOR: 000000A9
