What Is a Tele and What Does It Do? - televandalist/retroachievements GitHub Wiki

This is where I fluff up a handful of things I've done and try to make them sound like a bigger deal than they are.

Stuff That Was My Fault

Current/Ongoing Tasks

  • Managing the hash database
    • Also, working on getting our homebrews and other unlicensed games DAT'd by No Intro
  • Working on a RADocs overhaul
  • Carl's daddy
  • Started and continuing to maintain the RAPatches repo
  • Started and currently hosting DevJam.

Discord

  • Requested jr-dev channel
  • Merged revisions, rescores, and icon-gauntlet. Made opt-in rather than dev-only. This backfired and was reverted.
  • Started and handpicked the first wave of the Bombsquad.

Events

  • Started Cheevo Workshop... and closed it.
  • Introduced the Reroll option in Achievement of the Week.
  • Hosted The Big Achievement 2020.
  • Co-hosted The Unwanted from Month 7 onward. I mostly just do the monthly promo images now.
  • [DevQuest 004] Veteran Developer
  • [DevQuest 013] complete.me
  • [DevQuest 015] Console Conqueror

Support and Rollouts

  • Posted bounties to fix PC Engine CD and Sega CD memory exposure, which were both paid out to negativeExponent.
  • Added WonderSwan support, kinda, with reviews and help from Euclide and Jamiras.
  • The majority of console validations since PS1.
  • Coordinated and managed the rollouts for PSP, Dreamcast, Amstrad CPC, PS2, and WinArcadia.

Features, Policies, Processes

  • Made the Junior Developer Graduate badge.
  • Started and maintained the hub project - delegated to SporyTike, then Infernox... now it's kind of its own thing.
  • Started and maintained RA RnR - delegated to Searo, then Hotscrock, then HolyShinx, then back to Hotscrock.
  • Started site-cleanup
  • Lowered "Claim to Core" duration from 72-hours to 24-hours, with anything sooner being subject to approval.
  • Killed the Event tag.
  • Killed the Veteran Developer role and replaced it with a badge.
  • Made the initial 10 covers and template for RANews.
  • Redesigned the Bonus set badge overlay.
  • Convinced everyone that all new consoles should have a rollout period.
  • Pitched Subsets and eventually merged them with Bonus and Multi sets.
  • Helped shape and establish QA Team, DevComp, and various sub-teams.
  • Pitched and started the QA "Auction House"
  • Moved PC Engine CD to its own console ID.
