Before configuring the synchronisation plugin for Visual Studio online, you need to enable alternate credentials for your Visual Studio online account:

1. Select My security from the accounts control panel:
   /ScreenShots/VSO-My_Security.png
2. Select Enable alternate credentials on the Alternate authentication credentials tab:
3. Specify a password for the alternate credentials
