Creating a Stand-alone Repository
In order to create a project in SpecLog, you need to add a new repository. We will create a stand-alone repository to store the requirements for the online bookstore used in our example.
To create a new stand-alone repository:
- Start
SpecLog.exe
. - If you have not yet registered SpecLog, you will be asked to enter your license key. Enter your license key if you have one (see Licensing and Evaluation), or click on Continue to evaluate SpecLog.
- Information on your SpecLog version is displayed.
- Click on /ScreenShots/GettingStarted/MenuIcon.png at the bottom left of the screen to open SpecLog's menu and select Create repository.
- The following dialogue is displayed:
/ScreenShots/GettingStarted/CreateStandaloneRepository.png
Click in the Repository file name field or on the folder icon, and navigate to the folder you want to store the repository in. Enter a name for the repository (e.g. “Bookstore”). - Select the Repository language, e.g. “English (United States)”. The repository language determines the default [Gherkin parsing language]] and the behaviour of the [search.
- Do not enable Create as shared repository, as this requires you to set up a SpecLog server to host the repository.
- Click on Create.
The repository is created and opened in SpecLog. The new repository consists of a single empty workspace (“Workspace 1”) without any requirements.
