TE is based on a web browser. WebView2 extension switches TE from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge.

Advantages:

• Autofill is available to certain input text boxes.
• Certain elements look similarly to those on Edge.
• Preview and Preview window add-ons:
  • can show PDF.
  • can show animation, instead of still, for certain animated image types such as APNG.
• Latest JavaScript and CSS syntax are available for scripting and User style sheet add-on.

Disadvantages:

• For each add-on that has default settings, you must open its Options page once to accept the settings after you enable it.
• It consumes extra memory.
