Permanent Filters

Under Options > List > Filter you can setup persistent filters to permanently hide your files. Add file patterns like *.bak or *.ini to it. You can also filter folders by name say Thumbs one entry per line.

You can quickly toggle permanent filters on or off with the Switch Hidden Filter addon.
