Backglass Manager - syd711/vpin-studio GitHub Wiki

The Backglass Manager gives you an overview of every table's backglass (directb2s) configuration, so you can check, fix and upload backglasses without going through PinUP Popper directly.

Backglass Manager

Overview

The table lists every table together with its backglass status: whether a directb2s file exists (and how many versions are stored), whether it's matched to a table, and whether the backglass has a FullDMD region, a grill, a score element, a .res file and a frame configured. Use the emulator dropdown or the search field in the toolbar to narrow down the list, or filter by playlist.

Filtering

Open the filter panel (toggle button in the toolbar) to narrow the list down further:

  • Emulator Filters - restrict the list to one or more emulators
  • Backglass Filters - Missing DMD Image, DMD Aspect Ratio not full DMD, Presence of Score Element, Backglass without Table
  • Settings Filters - Grill Visibility, Backglass Hidden, B2S DMD Hidden, DMD Visibility

Uploading a Backglass

Use the Upload button, or simply drag a .zip, .rar, .7z or .directb2s file onto the window to upload a new backglass for the selected table. Rename renames the backglass file, including all of its stored versions.

Generating a .res File

The .res Editor button opens the .res Generator, which creates the screenres-based positioning file the backglass server uses to place the backglass and DMD on your cabinet's real screens. Choose whether the backglass should be stretched or centered, pick a Frame Type and an optional Frame Picture, and the generator computes the position and size of the backglass and DMD relative to the frame using the values from screenres.txt. If no screenres.txt is found yet, run B2S_ScreenResIdentifier.exe first and reload.
