Progress Report, April 7–13 - swansond/LavatoryLocator GitHub Wiki
4/14 Progress:
This week has mostly been administrivia with a little bit of work tacked on to the end. Some important administrative details:
- Changing our project name from PottyTrack to LavatoryLocator.
- Deciding on weekly meeting times: Monday at 3:30 PM, Friday at 4:30 PM.
- Setting up GitHub.
- PM is David Jung.
For our SRS, we've worked out a rough-but-mostly-complete sketch of what APIs we want to work with and what features we want to support (both core and optional), but we haven't done any use cases yet. After we do the use cases we should have a better idea of our requirements.
For our ZFR, we have the skeleton for our project code up on GitHub. It runs on the Android emulator successfully, displaying "Hello world!", but it does not do fetching of data from an external source. We're mostly waiting on more group discussion on group organization before we figure out who does what.
At our last meeting, we quickly looked at how to set up the Android plug-in for Eclipse and then discussed the features that we all wanted our product to have, which will be going into our SRS.
We don't know what each member is doing this next week yet, but for Monday we've agreed to each come with a UI paper prototype to quickly present, and then we'll talk about assigning roles for each individual.
With that said: things to do in the coming week, in broad strokes:
- Figure out group organization: who's working on what features (for this week, mostly who's going to be responsible for the SRS and ZFR).
- Present individual UI paper prototypes on Monday.
- Figure out which database API and social network API we want to work with.
- SRS team: Finish up project phase breakdown (what to accomplish by when), risks/cuts/adjustments, the use cases.
- ZFR team: Do the ZFR and then: get the URL for product download; figure out what data we want to fetch; write up the ZFR instructions doc.
