A rout is a crime�that is the�stage�before a�riot, but after an�unlawful assembly. According to�Follis et al. v. the State,�unlawful assemblies, routs and riots are all "allied disturbances of the public peace." A rout is described as�three or more persons in an unlawful assembly who�intend to engage in an�"unlawful design"�- when the unlawful design is executed, it becomes a riot.�Those who�participate in any riot, rout, unlawful assembly or affray, are guilty of a�misdemeanor.
