  1. A provision in a deed which creates a new right or interest for the grantor in the conveyed real property. For example, if a grantor is selling lots that have a private road traversing it, which the grantor wants to maintain access to, the deed might contain a reservation similar to the following: "grantor reserves to himself an easement of access to lots."

  2. Lands under the jurisdiction of federally defined American Indian tribes. For example, 25 U.S.C. � 1452(d) defines �reservation� as including �Indian�reservations, public domain Indian allotments, former Indian�reservations�in Oklahoma, and land held by incorporated Native groups, regional corporations, and village corporations under the provisions of the�Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act [43 U.S.C. 1601�et seq.].�
