Representative has two related definitions:

1. One who represents another. This could be as a political representative, for example a member of the House of Representatives. It could also be one who serves as one�s agent. It could also refer an attorney representing a client in litigation.

2. In certain jurisdictions, a representative may refer to an individual who acts as an estate executor�i.e. an individual charged with managing and distributing decedent�s assets. For example, Wisconsin statute Chapter 857 lays out the �power and duties of personal representatives.�
