As a noun, the aim or purpose of an activity or a court proceeding. For example, In McGlasson v. Barger, the court used �object� in the context of the object of defendant�s criminal conspiracy. For court proceedings, the object of the suit may be what the plaintiff seeks. For example, in Cotonio v. Richardson, the court used �object� in the context of the object of the court�s judgment, as in the aim of the litigation.
