The part of a courtroom with seating in an area that is enclosed, or boxed, around jurors during a jury trial. The jury box is normally situated in such a way that there is clear visibility of the judge, the attorney�s podium and the witness stand. Jury box may also refer to the �jury box method� referred to in NY Criminal Procedure � 270.15, which guides the process of selecting a jury and alternate jurors from individuals sitting in the box, subject to peremptory challenges.�
