Confrontation is when the defendant faces the witness and cross-examines them to object to the testimony in a criminal proceeding. The right to confrontation is granted by the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which provides that �in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right�to be confronted with the witnesses against him.� See: Right to confront witness
