Accord - sustany/dvg GitHub Wiki

Accord has three major definitions:

  • A harmoniousagreement, especially between countries.
  • An offer to substitute a different obligation for one that was previously owed, plus the acceptance of that offer. Either of the parties involved can propose an accord. If the newly substituted obligation is performed, the performance is called a satisfaction. SeeAccord and satisfaction.
  • Asignalindicating that the cited sourceconforms in some way to a source already identified in the author's previous sentence. Thus, if a participant in negotiations reported a very heated debate, anaccordcitation could point to a matching report from another participant.
