Linux Limitations
NextPVR is available for many operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS and Docker) through the use of Microsoft .Net. Whilst most application functions are available in all OS implementations, there are some limitations to the Linux implementation:
- ATSC Over The Air (OTA) Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is not yet available. The Schedules Direct OTA EPG is recommended (subscription required after free trial) and provides much fuller, feature rich content.
Installation from Debian based systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Mint, MX, Raspbery OS, Armbian)
The easiest way to install NextPVR is using the .deb file (thanks Martin for creating it!). Find more information about installing from the .deb file and updating to a new release Install with .deb file.
Manual Installation
For Linux platforms without native .deb file support (like Arch or Fedora) or to manually install use Manual install.
Installing on LibreElec or CoreElec
The NextPVR Server can be installed to run natively in LibreElec or CoreElec following these instructions LibreElec.
Installing on Docker
As most Linux system allow installing Docker you can also install the Docker image.
