Frequently Asked Questions

Web App pages are blank ... or show old values.

• Press F5 or Ctrl + F5

Values that I type in the Web App change back to old values.

• Press Tab after changing a value

There are not many shows in the TV Guide.

• The over the air (DVB/ATSC) guide in the US and Canada is poor. Schedules Direct is recommended.

Recording playback or Live TV stutters.

• Streams to player software, including Kodi and NextPVR Player, are not usually transcoded if NextPVR Server recognises the stream type. Your IPTV stream type might not be recognised if you use a redirect URL or proxy with IPTV. NextPVR Server will transcode unrecognised streams and streams sent to the Web App. Try a test viewing without using the redirect or proxy if you see stuttering. Streams to the Web App are transcoded to be compatible with all web browsers.

What is transcoding?

• Transcoding converts a video stream into a format that player software can play or reduces the quantity of data sent over the network so that the player does not "buffer". Transcoding uses the CPU on the NextPVR Server machine. Stuttering video might happen if the NextPVR Server machine is not powerful enough to cope with the requested transcoding.
