Getting Started with Presets - strohne/Facepager GitHub Wiki

Presets can be very useful as an introduction to Facepager. Facepager comes with a bunch of default presets provided by the developers of Facepager. Usually, the default presets can be applied directly without changes. This facilitates the understanding of the program, especially the selection of parameters. In the following, the use of a preset is shown using the Facebook API. Other presets work in a similar way.

Please note: Sometimes the presets break due to API changes of platform providers such as Facebook. In this case, you should read the API reference and adjust the settings by hand.

Step 1: First, after creating a database, add a seed node using the button Add Nodes. As an example, enter the Facebook handle of "BobMarley". You can add multiple nodes, one on each line. After that you need to confirm your input by clicking the OK button.

Step 1

Step 2: Click the Presets button and choose the preset named “2 Get Facebook Posts” in the Facebook category. In the description of the preset you will find information about how to use the preset and links to the respective API references. A preset contains query parameters and the column setup. Click the Apply button to transfer the preset into the settings of the Facebook module.

Step 2

Step 3: In order to use the Facebook API, you have to login using the button Login to Facebook. If the login fails, close the login window and try again.

Step 3

Step 4: Click on the seed node, e.g. "BobMarley", and afterwards on the button Fetch Data.
