Obscure System Commands You Didn't Know You Needed

What's good, Commander? EliteIntel keeps its UI leaner than a stripped-down Sidewinder - no clunky menus, no endless settings. But don't let that fool you; this app is packed with tricks you can toggle or trigger with a quick voice command. All accessible just by chatting. Let's get into the good stuff.

Toggleable Settings

Flip these on or off just by talking naturally:

  • Route Announcements [On/Off]: "Turn Route Announcements On." EI yaps about your next jump - whether the star's scoopable, system security, and other handy tidbits. Off = silence, but you can still ask anytime. Default: On
  • Discovery Announcements [On/Off]: "Turn Discovery Announcements On." EI pings you about first-mapped systems, high-value planets, bio signals, and the like. Default: On
  • Mining and Material Announcements [On/Off]: "Turn Mining Announcements On." EI flags prospector limpet hits and material finds. Default: Off
  • Add Mining Target [Material Name]: "Add Mining Target Painite." EI will flag hits for that specific material. No target set = stays off. Default: Off
  • Radio Chatter [On/Off]: "Turn On the Radio." EI vocalizes spicy radio transmissions - pirate threats before they try to gank you - while filtering out boring noise like cruise ship ads. Great for cargo runs. Default: Off
  • Streaming Mode [On/Off]: "Set Streaming Mode On." EI ignores you unless you prefix with "Computer." Perfect for Twitch/YouTube or when winged up. Say "Computer, turn streaming mode off" to flip it back.
  • Night Vision [On/Off]: "Night vision on." Toggles night vision in ship or SRV.
  • Headlights [On/Off]: "Headlights on."
  • Drive Assist [On/Off]: "Drive assist off."

Navigation & Finding Things

Beyond basic route plotting, EI's got smarts for hunting down specific things:

  • Navigate to Coordinates: "Navigate to latitude 41.4325 longitude -75.2309." EI guides you from orbit to within 50 meters, even on the dark side of a planet. That last part is a proper pilot challenge - instruments only.
  • Navigate to Bio Sample / Codex Entry: "Navigate to next bio sample" or "Navigate to nearest codex entry." EI takes you to the closest tagged biological. If you're hunting a specific genus (like Frutexa), it'll prioritize matching entries.
  • Navigate to Landing Zone: "Navigate to landing zone." Takes you to your last known ground landing coordinates.
  • Navigate to Fleet Carrier: "Navigate to carrier" or "Return to base." Plots a route to your carrier's last known system.
  • Take Me Home: "Take me home." Plots a route to your configured home system.
  • Set Home System: "Set as home system." Marks your current system as home base.
  • Plot Fleet Carrier Route: Open the galaxy map, select a star, copy its name (last button on the right in the Galaxy Map UI), then say "Calculate Fleet Carrier Route." If the system is in Spansh, EI builds the route.
  • Enter Next Fleet Carrier Destination: Open the Fleet Carrier galaxy map, click the top text field, then say "Enter next Fleet Carrier destination." EI pastes in the next system name.
  • Find Nearest Human/Guardian Tech Broker: "Find nearest Human tech broker." EI plots a route. Once there, say "Remind me where we need to go" for a station reminder.
  • Find Nearest Material Trader: "Find nearest raw material trader" / "encoded" / "manufactured." Same deal - finds and plots.
  • Find Brain Trees: "Find brain trees within 500 light years." EI scouts Guardian biology.
  • Find Mining Location: "Find where we can mine some Osmium within 200 light years." EI finds a system with the right rings and plots the route.
  • Find Carrier Fuel (Tritium): "Find where we can mine some carrier fuel within 300 light years." EI hunts ring systems with Tritium.
  • Find Commodity: "Find where we can buy Bromellite within 150 light years." EI hits EDSM and plots to the best market.
  • Find Nearest Vista Genomics: "Find nearest Vista Genomics." Plots a route so you can cash in those bio samples.
  • Find Nearest Fleet Carrier: "Find nearest Fleet Carrier." Useful when you need one in a pinch.

Combat & Mission Commands

  • Find Hunting Grounds: "Find hunting grounds." EI scouts nearby Haz RES or combat zones that match your mission parameters.
  • Plot Reconnaissance Route: "Navigate / plot recon route to hunting ground." EI builds a scouting path to the target system.
  • Navigate to Mission Provider: "Navigate to system with matching mission provider" or "Navigate to a confirmed pirate massacre mission provider." EI routes you back to stack more missions.
  • Navigate to Active Mission: "Navigate to active mission." Takes you to the current objective.
  • Confirm / Ignore Hunting Ground: "Confirm hunting ground" or "Ignore hunting ground." Tells EI whether to use that location or skip it.

Ship Control Shortcuts

  • Power Distribution: "All power to shields," "engines," "weapons," or "Equalize power." One command rebalances all pips - huge timesaver in VR where cloud processing lag adds up fast.
  • Exit to HUD: "Exit to HUD." Backs you out of nested menus fast. No more spamming UI Back 20 times.
  • FSS Scan / Honk: "Open FSS and scan" or just "Honk." Triggers the discovery scan.
  • Set Optimal Speed: "Set optimal speed." Cranks throttle to 75% for supercruise. Say it ~20 seconds from your target to dodge the loop of shame.
  • Target Next System in Route: "Target next system in route." EI selects the next waypoint on your plotted route.
  • Wing Nav Lock: "Wing nav lock." Locks onto a wingman's navigation.
  • Target Subsystem: "Target power plant." Locks subsystem targeting.
  • Dismiss Ship / Get Extracted: "Dismiss ship" / "Go to orbit" / "Return to surface, requesting extraction."

Utility & Session Commands

  • Set a Reminder: "Set reminder, pick up Painite from Hutton Orbital." EI stores it for the session. Ask "Remind me" at any point to hear it back.
  • Clear Reminders: "Clear reminders." Wipes the reminder queue.
  • Clear Codex Entries: "Clear codex entries." Wipes your scanned bio entries. Use with caution.
  • Delete Codex Entry: "Delete codex entry." Removes the most recent one.
  • Clear Cache: "Clear cache." Nukes the entire session cache. Big red button - only if things are seriously borked.
  • Monetize Route: "Monetize route." EI analyzes your plotted route for trade or exploration profit opportunities.
  • Verify LLM Connection: "Verify LLM connection." Quick check that the AI backend is reachable and responding.
  • Interrupt / Silence: "Interrupt," "Silence," or "Cancel." Stops the AI mid-sentence. Useful when it's being chatty and you need to focus.
  • Biome Analysis: "Run biome analysis on [star system / planet name]." EI tells you what species are probable at that location before you even land.
  • Fleet Carrier Financials: "Open fleet carrier data and tell me how long we can operate." EI calculates weeks of operation from current balance.
  • Fleet Carrier Range: "What is the range of our fleet carrier?" EI calculates worst-case range from tritium in depot and carrier storage.
  • How Long Can the Carrier Operate?: "Use reserve balance, how long can we run the carrier with 31 million credits per week?" You tell EI which balance to use; it does the math.

Pilot's Survival Guide

  • Talk Your Way: No robot-speak needed. "Yo EI, set my home system" works just fine.
  • ToS-Safe: All commands are legit - no memory reads, no overlays.
  • VR Lag Lifesaver: Power distribution and Exit to HUD are especially clutch for VR pilots dealing with cloud processing delays.
  • Dark Side Swagger: Navigating to coordinates on a planet's dark side? Channel your inner ace. It's tough, but landing on instruments in pitch black is deeply satisfying.

With these commands in your pocket, you're flying with a cheat code for convenience. Get out there and own the galaxy, Commander!
