Yo, commander, you've snagged the Elite Intel app from my GitHub, and now you're staring at it like it's a Thargoid artifact. No stress-let's get this beast humming so you can cruise the galaxy with your AI wingman. Here's the lowdown, gamer to gamer.

Windows 🪟

  1. Grab the 👉installer here👈.
  2. Download, click - next - next - done 🏁.
    • Parakeet STT (local speech recognition) and Kokoro TTS (local text-to-speech) are both included out of the box. No extra steps, no separate services to run.
  3. Now the slightly harder part - getting your LLM set up. You've got two options:
    • Go fully offline (free, private): See the Local LLM guide. Requires decent hardware.
    • Use a cloud LLM (easier, cheap): See the Configure the app guide to grab your API keys.

Linux 🐧

Easy Installation. No sudo required!

  1. Grab the installer script directly with curl:
curl -L -o installer.sh https://raw.githubusercontent.com/stone-alex/EliteIntel/refs/heads/master/distribution/installer.sh
  1. Make the script executable and run it:
chmod +x -installer.sh
./installer.sh

App installs to ~/.var/app/elite.intel.app. Both Parakeet STT and Kokoro TTS are bundled with the app - no extra installation needed. Enable them in the app via the Settings tab ☑ Use checkboxes.

  1. Now the slightly harder part - getting your LLM set up. You've got two options:

🏁 DONE - Configure the app

To Uninstall:

Use the -d flag to remove the app. It will prompt you before deleting config and API key data (not recommended to nuke those unless you're done for good).

bash installer.sh -d

First Run Checklist

Check for the Elite Intel icon, it is somewhere in your DE, depending on what DE you are running. It might shove it under Games, or Utilities. Once installed and configured, do this before your first session:

  1. Start the app and open the Player tab point to Journal and Bindings dir. the app needs those else there is no data to process. Restart the services, after you navigate to where your game journal and bindings are.
  2. Start Services.
  3. Hit Recalibrate Audio - this tunes the audio engine to your room noise, mic, and audio setup. Worth doing every time your hardware changes. See the oscilloscope readout under the Settings/Audio tab. When you speak it should be green. when you stop - red.
