Customizing Your Elite Intel: Make It Your Vibe

Elite Intel is your ship's voice and brain now literally. With the shift to Kokoro as the built-in default TTS and most pilots running fully offline (Kokoro TTS + local LLM via Ollama), here's how to tune your companion to feel right in the black.

Voices: Pick Your Ship's Voice

Kokoro (built-in, offline) is the default for most users fast, local, no cloud needed. It has its own voice set:

• American female: Heart, Bella, Nicole (whispering), Sky, Anna
• American male: Michael
• British female: Isabella, Emma
• British male: George, Jason, Daniel

Google TTS (cloud) still works if you enable it, but its voices (Anna, Betty, Charles, etc.) are separate and won't match Kokoro's lineup.

NOTE: Starting with version 0351 ship voice, personality and cadence can only be changed in UI. Not via a voice command. The AI will pick from the active engine (Kokoro by default).

Ship Identity: It Thinks It's Your Ship

The AI now speaks as your ship. It uses "I" / "my" / "me" when talking about itself.

Examples that work naturally:

• "What is your loadout?" → current ship modules
• "What is your jump range?" → current ship laden/unladen range
• "How much fuel do I have?" → your ship's fuel

If you want fleet carrier info instead, you must say so explicitly:

• "What is the fleet carrier's range?"
• "Tell me about the carrier's jump range"

Otherwise it assumes you're asking about the ship (itself).

Personalities, Profiles & Cadence

Offline mode (Kokoro + local LLM) the default for most commanders does not support custom personalities, faction profiles (Imperial/Federation/Alliance), or special cadence/slang. The local model answers plainly in its trained style. No temperature tweaks, no "Unhinged" or "Rogue" attitude.

Cloud LLM users (Claude, Grok, OpenAI etc.) still get the full experience:

• Professional / Friendly / Unhinged / Rogue personalities
• Imperial / Federation / Alliance profiles (affects slang and tone)
• Temperature control (low = fast & dry, high = creative & slower)

Switch with voice commands like before if you're on cloud: NOTE: Starting with version 0351 ship voice, personality and cadence can only be changed in UI. Not via a voice command. "change personality to Friendly" "switch profile to Imperial"

Most pilots stick with offline for zero cost/latency, so expect plain-spoken help there. Cloud gives the extra flair if you want it.

Pro Tips

• Start with Kokoro defaults switch voices until one clicks. British males (George/Jason/Daniel) pair nicely with an Imperial feel even without profile support.
• Offline = fast & free. Cloud = personality spice but costs tokens/time.
• Experiment with phrasing the ship-aspect makes queries feel more immersive.
