Disco plot - stjude/proteinpaint GitHub Wiki

This page contains draft content. Thank you for your patience as we make updates.

The disco plot is a circular, Circos-style plot displaying genome-wide alterations across all chromosomes, with concentric rings representing mutations, copy number changes, and structural variants, and gene labels highlighting key events.

How this Plot Works

The disco plot arranges SNV/indel, structural variant (SV), and copy number variation (CNV) data according to their genomic positions. Chromosomes are displayed as a black circular ring, providing the coordinate reference. Gene names are labeled outside the ring at their respective genomic locations. CNV data is shown as colored arcs in an inner ring, with colors indicating copy number gain or loss. SV data is represented as arcs connecting two genomic loci, illustrating rearrangements such as translocations or fusions.

How to Launch

The disco plot can be launched from a curated dataset or custom data.

Custom data

The disco card on the homepage includes a form for submitting custom data. Click this link and follow the instructions.

Dataset

If the dataset includes the requisite data types, the disco can be launched from the disco URL parameter described in this link.

Interactive Features

Controls

Users can configure the plot from the burger menu in the upper left corner of the plot .

CNV display

Display the cnv data as either a heatmap or bar plot. Toggle between the two via the radio button in the burger menu.
