The Staton lab is serving two servers for outside labs to use as a resource. This page will be an introduction to the basics of the two servers.

Centaur

Sphinx

• Remote name: sphinx.ag.utk.edu
• Number of cores: 64
• RAM: 512 Gb
• Main directory: /sphinx_local
  • Storage: 70 Tb
  • Storage Networking: SSD, local

Overall, Centaur has greater storage in its main directory than Sphinx, though Sphinx is overall faster than Centaur. We recommend using Centaur for long-term storage of projects due to Sphinx having less storage. If you do not clean up your data from Sphinx and space becomes limited, we reserve the right to delete excess files.
