Hitchcocks Guide the Galaxy: Using ScummVM on the Miyoo Flip.

Games

Getting game running on the flip requires you to copy the appropriate game files into the ROMS/SCUMMVM folder on your SD card and creating a .scummvm file. There are a number of free games for ScummVM. You can find them here: https://scummvm.org/games/

Different games will require different files to be copied to your Flip. Use the SCUMMVM Wiki to find the files you will need by searching the Wiki for the game you want to play.

You will also need to create a special text file for each game you are going to play. This file will also be copied to the ROMS/SCUMMVM folder.

Step 1.

Look up the SCUMMVM ID for the game you want to play. This can be found on the SCUMMVM Wiki here https://scummvm.org/compatibility/

Step 2.

Use a text editor (such as Notepad on Windows) to create a new text file. In this file, put the second half of the SCUMMVM ID on the first line. So for example, the game Out of This World (Another World) has a SCUMMVM ID of awe:anotherworld. So you would type in anotherworld into your text file and then save it. You can name it anything you want.

Step 3.

Rename the text file you just created to [Game Name].scummvm. [Game Name] can be anything you want. It is how the game will appear in Spruce. It is very important that you remove the .txt and replace it with .scummvm. If using Windows, you may need to change some settings to see the file extension.

Step 4.

Copy the .scummvm file you just created over to ROMS/SCUMMVM on your Flip along with the game files.

Step 5.

Reboot your Flip

ScummVM should now show up in the systems menu on Spruce. Game art works the same as with other systems.
