General description

The Social Determinants of Health Database comprises data corresponding to five key domains of the social determinants of health (SDoH) drawn from multiple sources. It was developed to facilitate finding a range of well-documented, readily linkable SDoH variables across domains without accessing various source files, facilitating SDOH research and analysis.

Variable categories

There are five key SDoH variable domains:

• Economic context (e.g., income, unemployment rate)
• Education
• Healthcare context (e.g., health insurance)
• Physical infrastructure (e.g, crime, housing, transportation), and
• Social context (e.g., age, race/ethnicity, veteran status)
