General description
PeptideAtlas is a publicly available, multi-organism collection of peptides identified through extensive tandem mass spectrometry proteomics experiments. It aggregates mass spectrometer output files from various organisms, including humans, mice, and yeast. These files are analyzed using cutting-edge search engines and protein sequences. The analysis results, including sequence and spectral library searches, are processed using the Trans Proteomic Pipeline. This ensures a uniformly high probability of correct identification for all entries and maintains a high-quality database standard, complete with false discovery rates assessed at the overall atlas level.
