General description

The Parkinson's Disease Biomarker Program (PDBP) comprises family members, healthcare professionals, patients, and researchers dedicated to accelerating biomarker research. It supports clinical and laboratory-based discovery projects designed to facilitate the identification of promising diagnostic and progression biomarkers for Parkinson's disease.

On the one hand, participant involvement is valued as they contribute to both the identification of biomarkers for Parkinson's Disease and related disorders and to the future development of treatments to slow down the progression of these diseases.

On the other hand, Researchers use PDBP's tools, like the PDBP Data Management Resource (DMR), to collaborate and share data more efficiently through the NINDS BioSEND and Human Cell and Data repositories. The PDBP DMR enables web-based data entry for clinical studies supporting PD biomarker development and broad data sharing of longitudinal neuroimaging, clinical, genetic, and biospecimen data across the entire PD research community.
