General description

The Integrated Cancer Center of the Netherlands (IKNL) is an independent institute focused on oncological and palliative care with a mission to mitigate the impact of cancer. Utilizing insights derived from real-world data in the Dutch Cancer Registry (NKR), IKNL plays a vital role in reducing the impact of cancer by collecting and providing essential and reliable data to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and researchers. As a trusted advisor in healthcare, IKNL shares independent insights about cancer.

Our objectives include:

  2. Improving patient outcomes, including survival rates
  3. Enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients and survivors
  4. Facilitating the integration of cancer patients and survivors into society

For thirty years, IKNL has monitored cancer patient care nationally through the NKR, offering scientifically sound knowledge and insights crucial for practice. This wealth of information aids in cancer prevention and improving patient care and quality of life. The NKR provides comprehensive data on cancer patients in the Netherlands, offering insights from diagnosis onwards and covering essential aspects of disease, care, and outcomes.

We also supplement registry data with information from other sources wherever possible, facilitating broader access to data to expedite solutions for cancer patients.
