General description
The Hospital Service Area data provides an overview of Medicare inpatient hospital fee-for-service claims information for the calendar year. It lists the total number of discharges, days spent in care, and expenses, all summarized by hospital provider number and Medicare beneficiary ZIP code.

Limitations
- This whole dataset contains more records than the majority of spreadsheet tools can handle. Thus, the data load will be partial. It is necessary to use a database or statistical program.
