General description
The Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) was designed to monitor changes in the rapidly evolving field of health communication by routinely collecting nationally representative data about how the American public uses cancer- and health-related information.
Furthermore, HINTS data are used:
- To create more effective health communication strategies across different populations.
- To overcome barriers to applying health information across populations.
- To obtain the data required to create more effective communication strategies.
- To refine theories of health communication in the information age
- To offer better recommendations for minimizing the burden of cancer throughout the population.
