General description
Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (FL AHCA), which was formally established by Chapter 20, is in charge of the licensing of the state's 48,500 healthcare facilities, the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis, and the state's estimated $25.2 billion Medicaid program, which is expected to cover 4.27 million Floridians in SFY 2016–17.
To make sure that money goes to helping patients and more, FL AHCA is trying to continue lowering the number of people without insurance throughout the state, improve their capacity to target dishonest providers, decrease needless regulation, and minimize administrative expenses.
