General description

Established in 1986 as a non-profit organization, the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists (EUSOMA) recognizes the varying approaches to diagnosing and treating breast disease, particularly breast cancer, across Europe.

EUSOMA's objectives are to:

1. Promote scientific research, facilitate connections among scientists and healthcare professionals in breast cancer care.
2. Enhance and standardize patient care across Europe by identifying optimal diagnostic and treatment methods, advocate for the adoption of these methods, ensure the availability of high-quality specialist breast services for all European women, establish service standards, contribute to certification and audit processes for Breast Centres.
3. Communicate findings to relevant authorities, and
4. Support training and post-graduate programs in breast disease at national and international levels.
