General description
Established in 1986 as a non-profit organization, the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists (EUSOMA) recognizes the varying approaches to diagnosing and treating breast disease, particularly breast cancer, across Europe.
EUSOMA's objectives are to:
- Promote scientific research, facilitate connections among scientists and healthcare professionals in breast cancer care.
- Enhance and standardize patient care across Europe by identifying optimal diagnostic and treatment methods, advocate for the adoption of these methods, ensure the availability of high-quality specialist breast services for all European women, establish service standards, contribute to certification and audit processes for Breast Centres.
- Communicate findings to relevant authorities, and
- Support training and post-graduate programs in breast disease at national and international levels.
