General description
The Environmental Protection Agency assesses exposure to radiation from environmental sources, enforces the Drinking Water Regulations for public water supplies, regulates drinking water quality, oversees the nationwide network for monitoring ambient air quality, and licenses, supervises, and regulates some waste-related operations.
It contains the mass quantity data on dioxin and dioxin-like compounds reported on the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Reporting Form R Schedule 1, with associated toxic equivalency data.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency's Air Quality System (EPA-AQS) provides the foundation for credible decision-making to safeguard human health and ecosystems from environmental pollutants. It contains ambient air pollution data collected by EPA, state, local, and tribal air pollution control agencies from thousands of monitors. AQS also contains meteorological data, descriptive information about each monitoring station (including its geographic location and its operator), and data quality assurance/quality control information.
Limitations
