General description
ClinicalTrials.gov is a registery and results database of clinical studies conducted worldwide and funded by public and private sources. Structured study information is provided voluntarily or in compliance with legal and policy restrictions by the sponsor or research investigator. Save from a cursory quality control check for obvious mistakes, omissions, or gaps, the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) does not do any further verification of the given data's scientific validity or applicability.
