General description

Annotated Clinical MRIs were obtained retrospectively from patients admitted from 2009–2019 to the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Stroke Center. The resource consists of 2,888 clinical MRIs of patients admitted with acute or early subacute stroke, including diverse protocols and MRI modalities with typical clinical resolution.

It includes diverse metadata and expert description of the acute lesion, manually defined in the diffusion weighted images, available in native subject space and standard space.

Limitations

• The dataset originates from a single center, potentially introducing regional biases.
• Future sharing and indexing initiatives are expected to enrich the dataset with data from multiple other centers, reducing such biases.
