1. Use cases: in which situations should I use this method?

  • Participatory designs require patients and other stakeholders (clinicians, hospital administrators, policymakers, companies including startups and large corporations) to provide input and actively participate in all phases of a research project. These include the design, funding attraction, data collection, results interpretation, dissemination (in both lay or technical language depending on the stakeholder), policy-making, and implementation science.
  • The end-product is a set of results that are more relevant to patients, oftentimes focused on increasing their quality of life.

2. Input: what kind of data does the method require?

  • Patients or other stakeholders interested in participating in the project.

3. Algorithm: how does the method work?
