1.1. Manage Air SIM using SORACOM User Console - soracom/handson GitHub Wiki
Using the SORACOM User Console enables you to manage SORACOM Air SIMs and other devices via a web browser. This section explains how to use a SORACOM User Console to perform the following:
- How to register a SORACOM Air SIM
- How to manage Air SIM
- How to apply special condition to Air SIM (Trigger Action)
First log in to the SORACOM user console. Please access: https://console.soracom.io/
You can now register your SORACOM Air SIM to your account. From the SORACOM console, click the “+ Register SIM” in the upper left corner of the SIM management screen.
To register your SIM card:
-
Enter the “ICCID” and “PUK” numbers printed on the back of your SIM card (if your “PUK” is not printed, please try “13191000”)
-
Choose a name for this SIM (optional)
Tip: ICCID is 19-digit number and PUK is 8-digit number, located behind the SIM card.
Once it is registered, the SIM status will be displayed as "Ready” on the SIM management screen. Since your session is not yet established, it should show as “Offline”.
Note that the SIM’s status can be changed at any time by the user to “Active”, “Deactive”, “Suspended”, or “Terminated”.
The SORACOM platform provides a programmable mobile network. This section explains how to utilize the User Console to manage and administrate Air SIMs.
After logging into the User Console, you will see a list displaying currently registered Air SIMs.
Changing an Air SIM’s speed class allows you to set a maximum speed throttle.

You can set an expiration date on an Air SIM so that it stops transmitting after that date. This is useful for time-delimited uses of Air SIMs.
In this workshop, let's use this capability to set the SIM to be terminated in 30 days
To set an expiration date, first remove 'Termination Protection'. Please select the SIM and click 'Action', then click 'change termination protection':
On the dialog below, please turn off 'Termination Protection' and click 'Save':
Next, set an expiration date by clicking the pencil icon in the Expiration Date column on the Air SIM index.
A dialog below will appear:
- Enter the 'New Expiry Date' you desire and click the Change Expiration Date button. Clicking the YY/MM/DD or Time fields will display a drop-down calendar or time panel. You can also complete these fields directly.
- Select 'New Expiry Action' -> 'Terminate'
- Click 'Update'
If you see the green message below, you have successfully set an expiration condition for the termination.
If you decide to continue using, please remove this expiration setting. Once your SIM is terminated, you cannot reuse the SIM.
