Notes from Meeting on July 7, 2013

Wireless XBee Testing (Stephen Ellis):

 XBee Pro series 2 2.4Ghz
   Line of sight is 1/2 mile
   Buildings in-between (1 story brick/wood houses)
     1 house still sends packets.
     2 houses there is high drop rate.
   200 feet in EE building before lots of dropped packets

High Level Operations (Alec Green): CCU

 - Track and modify object locations
 - out of bounds warnings
 - send 3D objects + 2D HUD and their locations

Headset

 - determine head orientation
 - determine GPS location
 - render 2D/3D graphics

Graphics

 Enough ram to store a whole frame, 16bit frame=150kB, 8bit frame=75kB, ram=192kB.
 An 8bit Zbuffer will be 75kB of ram.
 Can store 40 3d objects.

Will need GPS conversion from latitude/longitude to meters with CCU as origin.

Action Items:

 Write script to parse google maps and return coordinates of obstacles (Alec Green)
 Storage of objects to generate on wiki (Alec Green)
 Tutorial on LaTeX (Thor Smith)
 XBee Testing with 900MHZ (Thor Smith)
