Introduction

The section intend to guide the users through the first steps to fulfil the prerequisites for the Arctic Tutorials. This includes downloading and installing both Arctic Studio and Arctic Core. It also includes installing the license for Arctic Studio.

Arctic Studio

Arctic Studio is an Integrated Development Environment created by ARCCORE. It is developed for AUTOSAR development in the automotive market. It is an Rich Client Platform based on Eclipse with added plugins and features for working with AUTOSAR. Using Arctic Studio, it is possible to do everything from creating AUTOSAR applications, configure Basic Software, generate source code and much more. Arctic Studio uses .arxml files to store AUTOSAR models and can because of this be integrated with other tools that uses the same format.

Arctic Core

Arctic Core is an embedded software platform containing source code for Basic Software, OS, configuration definitions, make system, code generators, and many example projects. It should be imported into Arctic Studio and used by customer projects.
