Analytics - smithy212000/PortMiner GitHub Wiki

PortMiner 5.4 added very basic analytics.

The only reason these have been added is so I can see how often PortMiner is used to determine if it's worth me improving it further.

The only data collected is:

  • Your operating system: This is so I know if I need to better support Linux and OSX.

  • The date and time: To see when PortMiner is ran.

  • If it's your firt time running PortMiner: To see if users continue to use PortMiner.

  • UUID: A unique number to distinguish the analytics.

All this data is anonymous and can not in ANY WAY be used to identify you or anything else about your system except what is listed above.

If you want to opt out however, create an empty text file called 'opt-out.txt' in PortMiner's data directory. For Windows, this is %APPDATA%\PortMiner\
