Collection stewards have the prerogative to ask to have selected books and other materials transferred from the circulating collection to Special Collections.

Once a steward decides she wants something to be transferred, the steps are:

1. Communicate with Julie Adamo about the request. If she approves it, ask her to have it pulled and to process the transfer. CC the Head of Tech Services on the request as a heads-up.
2. Have the transfer sent to the rare books cataloger, with a printout of the email so they know what it is. They will complete the processing of the transfer by checking or updating collection codes and making the item shelf-ready.
