This page contains a list, for reference, of the standard content models. Each object in Islandora is associated with a content model, which enforces how the object may be edited, viewed, or changed.
At Smith, the following content models have been affiliated with specific record types for collection materials:
- Bibliographic materials, bound manuscripts and text-based archival records -- Islandora Internet Archive Book Content Model and Islandora Page Content Model
- Photographic or illustrative materials and single page manuscripts -- Islandora Compound Object Content Model (for compound objects) and Islandora Large Image Content Model
- Newspapers and serials -- Islandora Newspaper Content Model, Islandora Newspaper Issue Content Model, and Islandora Newspaper Page Content Model
- Multi-page born-digital textual content, such as oral history transcripts and electronic publications -- PDF Content Model
Examples:
- One folder of non-photographic material: Book content model
- Multi-page manuscript item: Book/page content model
- Bound scrapbook: Book/page content model
- Single photograph: Large Image content model
- Portfolio of artwork: Compound object content model
- Single text document, born-digital: PDF content model
- Periodical: Newspaper content model
The implementation of the audio and video content models is still in process for audiovisual materials.
