Under certain circumstances Agent records should not be published to protect the privacy of an individual:

• For closed materials associated with a specific agent (such as an oral history interview), do not publish the Agent record or the archival object without the narrator's permission.

• For individuals using pseudonyms, create an Agent record for management purposes but do not publish it. Only the pseudonym should be used in the archival object title, notes, or any other published metadata.

In these cases, add an internal Repository Processing Note such as:

Agent records and archival objects for 3 closed interviews are unpublished to protect the privacy of the narrators. Agent records for narrators who requested pseudonyms are also not published.
