These tools will aid in the importing and editing of models for Smash Ultimate.
Note that 3ds Max and Maya are both paid programs. Autodesk does offer a one year educational license if you want to use their programs are in school.
- Blender - A free 3d program that allows for edits of models, making renders, and editing animations.
- 3ds Max - A paid 3d program that allows for edits of models, and making renders.
- Maya - A paid 3d program that allows for edits of models, making renders, and editing animations.
These tools will aid in setting up your edited 3d model for use in Smash Ultimate.
- smash-ultimate-blender - A Blender plugin that imports and exports Smash models. This also includes the helper bone tool for online safe imports of differing model proportions.
- StudioSB - Model program for exporting your edited model to a format readable by Smash Ultimate. Allows for mesh order changes and editing of skeletons. (You need this if you do not use Blender)
- Cross Mod - Model viewer program with an advanced material editor. Allows for multiple folders to be previewed at once (useful for stages).
- Mat Lab - A command line tool that converts between numatb and XML. This allows for material editing not supported by Cross Mod such as copying a material from one model to another.
These scripts allow the 3d programs listed earlier to open the model formats of Smash Ultimate.
- smash-ultimate-blender - Linked above, allows you to import your model and preview it in Blender. (Useful for visualizing stage materials)
- NUMDLB MaxScript - A MAXScript that allows for importing smash models into a scene.
- Material Combiner Add-on - This Blender add-on can assist newer modders in combining their textures onto one UV space without having to deal with UV editing.
