Mosaic Mode, Explained - smart-underworld/seestar_alp GitHub Wiki
Here are a few notes on how to properly setup a mosaic:
-
Panel Overlap guideline
- 20% in EQ mode
- 45%-55% in Alt-AZ mode
-
selected panels:
- if you want to capture only a subset of the full set of panels of a mosaic
- example: 23;12;21 will only capture panels 12, 21 an 23 - in this order
-
split mosaic across multiple Seestars:
- in Federation mode, you can specify how the panels of size m are captured with the Seestar array of size n:
- split: divide evenly how the set of panels are captured by each Seestar: roughly m / n panels per Seestar
- not split: each Seestar will capture each and every panel of the mosaic
- in Federation mode, you can specify how the panels of size m are captured with the Seestar array of size n:
-
total session time:
- this is the capture time for the mosaic if all the panels were to be captured
- this determines the capture time for each panel by the formular :
<capture_time> = <total session time> / <number of panels of a mosaic>
- if selected_panels are specified, then run time can be estimated to be
<capture_time> * <num_selected_panels>
-
max number of Seestars used:
- in the very near future, a new parameter will be exposed to specify the maximum number of Seestars out of a federation array to be used to service a mosaic
